Updated: Sep 17,2021 14:34

State Councilor Wang Yong read out a congratulatory letter from President Xi Jinping and delivered a speech to the opening ceremony of the China Quality Conference, which opened on Sept 16 in Hangzhou, capital city of East China’s Zhejiang province.

At the conference, he also presented awards to organizations and individual representatives.

He said the congratulatory letter elaborates the significance of quality for the development of human society, fully showing China's determination to promote high-quality development and providing guidance to deepen international cooperation and promote innovation on quality.

Wang noted that building China into a high-quality country remains a long and arduous task despite increasingly improved quality management systems and supply levels, adding that the major decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council should be implemented in full and quality infrastructure construction should be enhanced.

He said that reform of market oversight and law enforcement should be deepened and zero tolerance toward quality and safety issues must be upheld, adding that intellectual property rights and consumer rights must be further protected to provide a better business environment.

China will actively participate in international quality cooperation, and improve the connectivity and sharing of quality infrastructure to promote economic and trade exchanges and benefit people from all countries, he said.

During the event, Wang also visited market regulation departments, food and medical product quality inspection agencies, and manufacturing enterprises in Zhejiang province.
